Vladimir Horowitz was fastidious about his clothes, as he was with many other things. In his later years, he always wore bow ties. He owned more than eight hundred, and he even received an award from the Bow Tie Association. The Horowitz Papers at Yale include two of his bow ties, as well as his suit jacket and pants, suspenders, scarf, vests, and gloves.
