Like Arnold Schoenberg and George Gershwin, Paul Hindemith was a talented amateur artist. The Hindemith Collection contains numerous examples of his work, ranging from his Christmas cards to a series of large humorous drawings he made for the retirement party of his friend Carl Lohmann, a high-ranking Yale administrator. It also includes several Easter eggs that he decorated and gave to friends; one of them is displayed here.
